This guy sings like Basil Rathbone might have. What on earth are the lyrics meant to mean?
The b-sides, ‘Yellow Buskin’ and ‘Ju-Ju Peach’ are lyrically even less fathomable.
…And surely the keyboard parts are just a mouse leaping across the keys.
I worked in a record shop in the mid-90′s and we used to stick this record on at the end of the day for a laugh.

Unbelievable album – you would have thought he were 50 at the time. Want to call my daughter Albertine – wife isn’t keen what with the Ronaldo thing.

Your wife might have a point as the Albertine in question might be a reference to the thus named lady of the demi-monde in christian krohg’s 1886 book Albertine.
Superb album with poetic lyrics that deserve to be read and reread. I worked with his father – a gentleman, like his son. Persons of you who have the friends again album will know what industry we worked in.

If you like this one check all the albums The Bathers released in Marina Records. They are right gems by a right genius. Trapped And Unwrapped is also a 5 star album and Bloomsday’s only lp is as well fantastic.

I heard the best album I’ve ever heard in 1994. It was called ‘Sweet Deceit’. I can’t find it anymore though I can find any other shit that I want. It’s perverse.
